Assisting high-net-worth clients with thoughtful tax and estate planning helps them define their future ideals.
David Bryant oversees business and high-net-worth client relationships in the tax department, predominantly for clients in the private equity industry. Private equity firm owners and fund investors need careful planning to manage tax impacts on compensation and investment income. David advises clients on current and future tax-triggering events – distributions, bonuses, exit plans - by understanding their business and personal goals.
He regularly consults with family office clients on matters involving trusts, estate plans and private foundations. David works with clients and their team of advisors to create sustainable tax and estate plans for the family while monitoring family or tax law changes that could require updates to those plans.
Prior to joining Walter Shuffain, David worked in the Personal Financial Services tax group at PwC, where he developed significant knowledge of issues impacting high-net-worth individuals.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire. David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the Boston Estate Planning Council. He is also a member of the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility committee.
